Itinerary

Day 1

Sandakan - Sepilok - Sukau Rainforest Lodge (L/D)

Drive from Sandakan to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and learn about the rehab efforts done at the centre through a short video screening. Witness the feeding of orangutans and other monkeys and spend some time at their nursery as well. After lunch, embark on a 2.5 hour journey by speedboat up the Kinabatangan River to Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Late afternoon cruise in search of Borneo's wildlife and birds

Day 2

Sukau Rainforest Lodge (B/L/D)

Morning River cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap Oxbow Lake to view more birds and wildlife. Join in the nature walk with a naturalist. In the afternoon, proceed for another river cruise for wildlife sightings.

Day 3

Sukau Rainforest Lodge (B/L/D)

Morning River cruise along the Menanggol River in search of wildlife. Late afternoon, drive to Gomantong Cave and take a 15min boardwalk trail through the rainforest. Witness the exodus of over two million bats as well as raptors.

Day 4

Sukau RF Lodge - Lahad Datu - Borneo RF Lodge (B/L/D)

Drive overland to Lahad Datu and to the award-winning nature lodge, Borneo Rainforest Lodge. Evening slide show and explore nature trail leading to canopy walkway and possible spotlighting to view some of the nocturnal animals.

Day 5

Borneo Rainforest Lodge (B/L/D)

Full day exploring the forest for birds and mammals. Trek to waterfall for a refreshing dip in rock pools

Day 6

Borneo Rainforest Lodge (B/L)

Transfer to Lahad Datu and afternoon flight back to Kota Kinabalu.
